A Strange Day.......

A strange day ensconced in a Heathrow hotel with nothing much to do except kill time ! Listening to the weather reports however I am very glad that I am ensconced.......it looks appalling everywhere except home on Skye! The Sussex weather is dramatic and iron cold at - 6 and the north of England and Scotland seem to be Arctic,  soon to be joined in a red warning by Wales, the South West and Ireland. Heathrow is very very cold but not with a heavy layer of snow, only about an inch.

I ventured out across the road for my first visit to a Polish shop and it was an interesting experience ! Nothing much of anything I was accustomed to,  it lots of foodstuffs from Poland, Roumania and Bulgaria ! This part of the Home Counties must have a strong community of folk from this part of the world !

I wandered up and down the aisles hoping for things with an English translation and had a bit of luck with cheese and nuts, but other stuff was written in largely unintelligible ( to me !) Cyrillic text. I thought I could provide what I needed for the next two days rather than pay high hotel restaurant prices !

I bought some crackers, cheese, bottled apricots which had a delicious almost spicy taste, four yogurts nd some sugar free biscuits and a comb ! Not to eat....but I clearly left mine in Yorkshire !!!

I took some snaps of this completely new shopping experience, and as I no other news I will post them ! I sat and had an unexpectedly good hotel lounge coffee so that was a bonus !
